SpinSpinNYC’s New York Fashion Week Label Party will take place under the summer sky at Dekalb Market’s main performance space, where our unique musical aesthetic and newly signed acts will provide the musical landscape for the the evenings wide-ranging events. Enjoy a special live-pa set as the night falls from SpinSpinNYC’s latest signing, the electro-pop duo Infernal Devices, who bring a unique brand of retro-future sounds combined with a DIY light show emanating from their handmade “Phenomatron”. World renowned djs Nutritious (Dope Den / Apt Entertainment / SpinSpinNYC) & Wiseacre (theLIFT, Turntables on the Hudson, Sweet n Low) round out the evening, spinning an eclectic blend of house, funk, soul, nu disco, nordic house, italo, balearic, and New York-centric sounds.
In addition to the label launch, SpinSpinNYC’s debut album release will be commemorated at this event. The album Nutritious Presents Duke Williams And The Extremes features the 70s soul & funk group who were once signed to the late Capricorn records, the label of the Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, Percy Sledge and others. The album also features Nutritious’ modern take on the music of the Extremes. In addition to two smoking albums on Capricorn, band leader Duke Williams, NY area resident and local musician, is responsible for the musical arrangement of Grace Jones’ prolific rendition of “La Vie en rose” (produced by Tom Moulton “father of the disco mix’). SpinSpinNYC’s debut EP offering was the first in a release schedule set to showcase the musical diversity that makes up the soul of New York City.
SpinSpinNYC is also celebrating our forthcoming EP with Infernal Devices, Life In Stereo, which is slated for worldwide release September 25th 20212.
