Group Show @The Stoop BK
February 17th 2017 - April 21st 2017

Artist and curator Krystyna Printup invites artists to submit work for "THIS IS BROOKLYN" group show at gallery/bar The Stoop BK in Bushwick, Brooklyn. THIS IS BROOKLYN will be the first group show for the gallery segment of The Stoop Bk. Open to all visual artists working in North America, ages 18+. Artists are invited to submit their interpretation of THIS IS BROOKLYN using a material and style reflective of their own personal work. What is Brooklyn? Who are the people of Brooklyn? What makes Brooklyn so diverse? Artists do not need to be known for Brooklyn related subject matter order to enter. Work selected will be for sale during the duration of the group show. Work should be priced for sale and under $500 in value. Artists are also invited to submit limited edition multiple reproductions of work to be sold and or items such as pins,patches and shirts that relate to the theme.

ABOUT THE GALLERY
The Stoop BK is dedicated to exhibiting a wide range of emerging and mid-career artists that represent Brooklyn for their first group show. This gallery/bar invites artists and musicians to participate in a variety of weekly showcase opportunities and has become a new hub for the exchange of creative ideas in the Bushwick community. ABOUT THE CURATOR
Krystyna Printup is a Brooklyn based artist and curator who last years "Plant Sale Show", at Rabbithole Projects, invited artist to reexamine the common house plant. Printup enjoys working with local galleries and store owners to create spaces for emerging and mid- career artists to exhibit. As the founder and Editor of ThePrintupList.com, a NYC event listing website, Printup using her promotional skills to share and showcase her art shows with the same attention to detail as if it was a high profile NYC event.

CALL TO ARTISTS FOR SUBMISSIONS
Final Submission Deadline: January 27, 2017
Notification Letter Date: before January 30, 2017
Gallery Exhibition Dates: Friday February 17, 2017 - April 21st, 2017
Opening Reception: Friday February 17, 2017 from 5-7 pm


ELIGIBILITY
This call for submission is open to all artist 18 years of age or older. This is group exhibition for artists working in all two dimensional media, painting, photography, printmaking and mixed media with a subject matter of the THIS IS BROOKLYN (no video or sound art). Artists may submit gallery quality limited edition reproductions of artwork for consideration as well as other art related goods.

Curating
Entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected.  Work that does not visually capture the THIS IS BROOKLYN theme will not be considered for a spot in the show.  Works that don’t not meet the requested requirements of art work size, framing, or preparation for hanging will be not be considered.

SUBMISSIONS AND FEES
The fee is $15 payable via paypal (thisisbrooklynshow@aol.com)  The fee is for up to three (3) images, plus $5 for each additional image.


Email Thisisbrooklynshow@aol.com with the following information and files: Name, contact information, Submissions Images (JPEG) and artist website

Include for each image: Title, Year Completed, Medium, Dimensions and price list

All entries awarded a spot in the show must be registered/received by midnight, Wednesday February 15th, 2017 EST.          
All entry fees are non-refundable. Fees cover cost of gallery, hanging, production management, PR and advertisement. Work that is awarded a spot in the show pay no additional fees.


ACCEPTANCE
Notification of acceptance of work will be made via e-mail. A return confirmation of participation is required by February 2nd, 2017 to hold a spot in the exhibition.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTED WORK
1. Maximum Size: 36” w X 48”
2. All work must be suitably framed to a professional standard when needed. No clip frames, saw-tooth hangers or taped edges.
3. Work must be wired and ready for hanging. Please label on the back of the work the following: Artist Name, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. This information must correspond with the Accepted image as listed on Notification form. No artwork may be substituted.
6. All artwork must be priced for sale and under $500 in value.
7. Please note if work is a reproduction. Only professional quality reproductions will be chosen for exhibition and sold as limited edition works.

DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK

1. All Shipped Art work must arrive between February 7  - February 15, 2017. Shipping address will be provided if work is selected (UPS and Fedex are our preferred carriers). The artist assumes all responsibility for insuring artwork against shipping damage or loss. Artists will be responsible for delivery and return shipping of all their artwork. All work must be gallery ready for installation.

2. Work can be hand delivered. Details provided if selected to show.

RETURN
Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container. A prepaid label for its return must be enclosed. The STOOP BK or THIS IS BROOKLYN  accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved on the pick-up date or damages in shipping.

HAND REMOVAL
Hand-delivered artwork must be removed by the artist, or artist’s agent, on the date provided in email if selected. Any work not removed during this specified time will be stored for a month at the rate of $10.00 a day and disposed of in accordance with NYS law.

LATE ARRIVAL AND RETURNS
 The Stoop BK and THIS IS BROOKLYN has the right to reject and return work that is late at the artist’s expense.

LIABILITY
 The Stoop BK and THIS IS BROOKLYN  are not responsible for any damage, breakage, replacement or cost associated with any damage or breakage that may have occurred during transport or unpacking. Every precaution will be taken in handling the entries, but The Stoop BK assumes no liability for any loss or damage to any artist’s work while in our care, custody or control, before, during or after the exhibition. Each artist, if they wish, needs to provide their own insurance. We do not provide insurance.

SALES, COMMISSIONS
The Stoop BK will retain a 25% commission on all exhibition sales. The price represented on the artist entry form will be the sale price. No changes will be allowed. Sold works will remain until the end of the exhibition. Payments for works sold will be paid to artist via PayPal 5-7 days after closing of event.

USE OF IMAGES
Any image submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include publication in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

ENTRY AGREEMENT
With the submission of artwork into the “THIS IS BROOKLYN” Exhibition, the artist agrees to all the terms and conditions set forth in this prospectus.
