KC and the Sunshine Band expressed it best, perhaps, when they sang:
Girl, to be with you is my favorite thing, yeah
Uh huh, and I can’t wait ’til I see you again, yeah yeah
I want to put on my my my my my
Boogie shoes
Just to boogie with you, yeah!
We are thrilled to partner with Museum of Sex and its exhibition Night Fever: New York Disco 1977 – 1979, The Bill Bernstein Photography for the official VOLTA NY 2017 Afterparty. The action goes down on Friday March 3 from 7 PM to midnight, featuring DJ sets by Sid Vaga (Laboratory Records/Wonderwheel Recordings) and DC’s soul brother of the steel wheels Adrian Loving (Axel F. DC). The party is co-hosted by Loving, culture journalist and writer Vikki Tovak, and art social club ANOKO.
Plus, join Loving and Tovak at VOLTA NY on Saturday March 4 from 4:30 PM – 6 PM, where they co-moderate “Shoot to Thrill: Picturing Identity in New York, 1977 – Now” in the VOLTA Salon with artnet, featuring guest artists Janette Beckman, Krista Schlueter, Joe Conzo, and the mighty Bill Bernstein himself.
See you on the dance-floor Friday and at the fair on Saturday!
